Minor Surgeries
Our minor surgical procedures are performed in-clinic under local anesthesia by physicians trained in dermatology and aesthetics. They are quick, minimally invasive, and tailored to your aesthetic goals, following an approach grounded in medical expertise.
Dermatology Applied to Aesthetics
We first perform a comprehensive assessment of the lesion and your skin (type, location, risk of recurrence) to establish a personalized intervention plan. Depending on the case, we combine the most appropriate technique (excision, shave removal, electrocoagulation, micro-instruments) with customized post-operative care follow-up.
Mole (Nevus) Removal
Indications
Mole removal is considered when moles are cosmetically undesirable or draw unwanted attention. Our dermatologists can provide a consultation to explain the various aesthetic techniques and determine the one best suited to your skin and goals.
Procedure
Recovery
Mild sensitivity may occur for 24–48 hours and is generally managed with acetaminophen. Stitches are removed after 5–7 days for the face and 10–14 days for the body. The skin typically heals within 1 to 2 weeks; it is recommended to avoid strenuous activities for 24–48 hours, keep the area clean and dry, and protect it from the sun (high SPF) for several weeks.
Skin Tag Removal
Indications
Procedure
After antisepsis and, if necessary, targeted local anesthesia, the skin tag is removed using controlled excision, electrocoagulation, or sometimes cryotherapy. The procedure is quick and usually does not require sutures.
Recovery
Small scabs may form and fall off within 3 to 7 days. Avoid rubbing, swimming pools, and saunas for 24–48 hours, as well as direct sun exposure until fully healed. On the eyelids, avoid makeup for 24 hours. Care is limited to gentle cleaning and, if prescribed, the application of a healing ointment.
Cyst and Lipoma Removal
Indications
Excision is recommended when a cyst or lipoma is cosmetically undesirable, visible, or bothersome, whether for aesthetic or odor-related reasons. If the cyst becomes inflamed, painful, or causes functional discomfort, it is considered a medical issue not managed at Éclat MD. The consultation allows us to explain the available options and choose the best approach for an optimal aesthetic result.
Procedure
Under local anesthesia, a small incision is made to remove the cyst along with its capsule or the entire lipoma. The skin is closed with appropriate sutures to minimize scarring; a dressing is applied, and care instructions are provided. The specimen may be sent for analysis if indicated.
Recovery
Mild swelling or bruising may occur for 3 to 10 days. Stitches are typically removed after 10–14 days (or 5–7 days for the face). Strenuous activities and heavy lifting should be limited for 5–7 days, depending on the location. The initial dressing is kept for 24–48 hours and then replaced according to instructions. A follow-up appointment may be scheduled to review the analysis results.
Upper Blepharoplasty
Indications
The procedure is indicated for excess upper eyelid skin causing a heavy eyelid appearance, difficulty with makeup application, or reduced visual field. Clinical assessment determines the amount of skin to be removed.
Procedure
After precise marking, the excess skin is removed under local anesthesia, with limited adjustment of fat pads if needed. Closure is performed with very fine sutures placed within the natural eyelid crease. Cold compresses and an ointment are prescribed.
Recovery
Swelling and bruising peak around 48–72 hours and typically subside within 10–14 days. Sutures are usually removed after 5–7 days. It is recommended to keep the head elevated at rest, apply cold compresses intermittently, avoid contact lenses for 1 week, and refrain from strenuous activity for 1–2 weeks. Eyelid makeup can be resumed after incision healing, as advised by the clinician, and strict sun protection is essential for optimal scar quality.
